Theatre maker specialising in visual storytelling.
About
Taleece Paki is a multidisciplinary theatre-maker working across production design, direction, facilitation, and performance, with a practice grounded in visual storytelling.
Her work explores how story is shaped through image, space, and the body — bringing together a strong design sensibility with a collaborative, process-driven approach to performance-making. With a particular interest in applied theatre, she is drawn to work that is community-engaged, accessible, and socially responsive. From set and costume construction to coordinating full-scale productions, she combines creative vision with a practical, hands-on understanding of how work is realised on stage.
Trained at Excelsia College with a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts and holding a Master of Creative Industries from Macquarie University, Taleece has developed her practice across stages and studios throughout Sydney. She has worked as a teaching artist with Q Theatre over the past five years, building a strong facilitation practice with young people in Western Sydney — and in 2026 was engaged as part of PYT's ensemble of young creatives.
Disciplines
As a director, I shape the overall vision of a work, bringing together performance, design, and storytelling into a cohesive whole. My approach is collaborative and actor-centred, creating rehearsal spaces where performers can explore, take risks, and develop truthful, embodied work. I'm particularly interested in how visual language, movement, and spatial composition can deepen narrative, guiding audiences through story beyond text alone.
My design practice is grounded in visual storytelling, with a focus on how space, costume, and image can hold and communicate meaning. My work often begins with atmosphere and world-building — considering how an audience encounters a space and how that shapes their experience of the story. I approach design with an environmentally conscious mindset, prioritising recycled materials and existing resources, resulting in work that is both sustainable and richly textured.
As a facilitator, I work primarily with children and young people, creating inclusive, collaborative spaces where creativity, confidence, and self-expression can grow. My practice is grounded in applied theatre, with a focus on process-led work that centres each participant's voice — using play and imagination as powerful tools for learning and connection.
As a performer, I'm drawn to work that is physically engaged, emotionally grounded, and responsive to ensemble. My performance practice is deeply informed by my work as a director and designer, with a strong awareness of space, composition, and the visual language of the stage. I approach performance as both an individual and collaborative act, contributing to the wider storytelling of the work.

Experience
I lead the end-to-end realisation of theatre productions, from early development through to performance. Working across design and production management, I collaborate with directors, performers, and creative teams to bring cohesive, visually driven work to the stage — coordinating rehearsals and technical processes, overseeing backstage operations, and creating environments where work can run smoothly and safely.
I facilitate drama workshops for young people aged 5–18, creating inclusive spaces where creativity, confidence, and self-expression can grow. My work spans introductory play-based learning through to more advanced performance-making, supporting participants at all stages of their creative development. Grounded in a belief in theatre as a tool for learning, I use play and imagination to help young people build skills, explore ideas, and find their voice.
